Karsten Schuhl lives and works in Berlin, focusing on sound and vibration, physical matter, and sensor-actuator networks. At the heart of his work lies the exploration of connecting elements within artistic and design-based research processes.
He places particular emphasis on physical artefacts as triggers for interaction and perception. Through multisensory experiences, he creates moments of wonder and situations of “!” – instances that surprise, unsettle, or open up new perspectives.
As an artist, designer, and researcher, his goal is to shift perspectives and break open familiar contexts. His works draw attention to patterns, details, and the subtle structures of everyday life, revealing hidden values and evoking a sense of wonder.
Verena Bachl works with materials such as marble, silicone, metal, glass, magnets, and fluorescent tubes. Industrial and technical elements meet raw, mineral materials.
Light, movement, magnetism, and energy become visible and physically tangible components of her installations. Functional objects are removed from their original context and transformed into enigmatic, tension-filled states between sculpture, infrastructure, and relic.
